I spent $80 on a graded slab for a comic I thought was special. Some say it's smart, others say it's a waste. What's your take?

What's the most you've ever spent on grading? I dropped like $75 on a copy of X-Men #137, the one where Jean Grey dies. It's not worth a ton, but that story wrecked me as a kid. I'm with @nancy_garcia63 on this, if it means something to you, that's the whole point. The slab just freezes that feeling.

Honestly, if that comic means something special to you, then it's worth it. Grading protects it and shows you value it beyond just the price. Who cares what other people say about your own collection?

Totally agree! I once got a comic graded just because I spilled soda on the cover as a kid. It's a 2.0 now, but the stain is forever protected. What's the most personal book you've ever sent in?
