Used to chase those 4-year degrees like it was the only path
Back in 2018 I dropped out of the University of Oregon after two semesters. My parents thought I was throwing away my future but I started a small landscaping business in Eugene instead. Now four years later I make more than most of my friends who graduated and I don't have any student loans. Does anyone else feel like the pressure to finish college is just a way to keep people in debt?

Is there any institution that actually pushes people toward smart financial choices anymore?

Totally agree with you man. I had a bank once that actually had a free financial advisor who sat down with me and helped me budget and save for a house. Now every time I walk into a branch they just try to sell me credit cards or loans. Last month my credit union sent me an email about how to "build wealth" and it was literally just an ad for a high fee investment account. Feels like nobody is looking out for the regular person anymore, just trying to make a buck off you.
