Update: found out the average dropout owes $14,000 in student loans, and mine matches almost to the dollar
I left a state school in Ohio back in 2016 after three semesters and never really added up what I walked away owing. Last week I was poking around a student debt site out of boredom and saw the stat that the typical person who leaves school without a degree carries around $14,000 in loans. I pulled my old paperwork out of a shoebox and my number was $13,850, which kind of knocked the wind out of me. I've been paying $85 a month for 9 years now and the balance still sits near $9k, so I guess my math was always worse than I thought. Did any of you actually sit down and total up what your partial degree cost, or did you just try not to look at it like I did?
