PSA: I blew $1,200 on a 'certified' online coding bootcamp that was just recycled YouTube videos.
Has anyone else found a legit path into tech without getting scammed first?

That's rough. The word "certified" doesn't mean much on its own. A lot of those programs just pay for a badge. Better to look for ones with real hiring partners or published job rates. Free stuff like The Odin Project or Harvard's CS50 course are solid places to start for real learning.

Honestly noahpark, what if that badge gets your resume past the first filter though?

Margaret, that "real learning" part is where I gotta push back a little. CS50 is solid for theory, sure, but a lot of grads I've interviewed can't actually build a basic CRUD app from scratch after finishing it. It's more of a survey course than a job training program. If someone wants to actually land a job, they need to be building real projects with a framework like React or Django, not just watching lectures.
