Funny how life works. Your uncle probably meant well, but borrowing your car is a whole different kind of regret. Sounds like you're doing alright and he's the one who needs a ride now.

Yeah that part about "borrowing your car is a whole different kind of regret" really hit me. You can try to be nice and help someone out and it just backfires so bad. I've seen stuff like that happen with my own family members too, where a favor turns into this huge headache. Hope your uncle figures his own stuff out eventually though. Some people just don't get how much they take advantage until it's too late.

Hold up let me play the other side here. Your uncle probably watched you quit something stable and thought he was looking out for you in his own way. @leep33 said it's about favors backfiring but maybe your uncle borrowing your car is actually a weird sign of respect like he sees you as an equal now not some kid who made a bad choice. Yeah it's annoying but he's basically admitting you have something he needs which is a lot bigger than him just being right about your career path. If you never gave him that ride or that car he'd never have to face the fact that you're doing fine on your own terms. Sometimes people give advice out of fear not because they want to be jerks about it.
