My networking shortcut that saved me $200 a month
I dropped out of community college two years ago because I couldn't afford the tech program. I started freelancing as a web developer but kept hitting walls with slow internet. Then I discovered that the public library downtown lets you book a private study room with fiber optic speeds for free. I go there three times a week now and it costs me zero dollars. Has anyone else found a free workspace that actually works for their freelance hustle?

Calling a library "zero dollars" is ignoring that your tax dollars pay for it, so it's not really free.

Wait, does that mean you think we should skip parks and fire departments too since our tax money pays for those? @kellyg14, you're right that someone pays for the library, but the whole point of pooling tax dollars is so we all get shared benefits without a direct fee at the door. It's a community investment, not a hidden charge, and calling it "free" just means no cash leaves your pocket when you walk in. If we're being really technical, even a sale at the store isn't "free" because someone paid to make the product, so does that mean nothing is ever free?
