I finally tried that 'learn to code' thing after dropping out
Spent 6 months grinding through Python tutorials on YouTube and even paid $200 for a bootcamp. Got to the point where I could build a simple calculator app and then realized I absolutely hate staring at a screen for 8 hours a day fixing typos. I think the biggest thing I learned was that just because something pays well doesn't mean it's for you. Anyone else jump into a 'practical' career path and find out the hard way it wasn't your thing?

Six months of tutorials and a bootcamp just to build a calculator sounds like a lot of pain for not much payoff. Plenty of people spend way more time than that on hobbies they end up dropping because it's just not clicking. You gave it a real shot and found out it's not for you, that's just how it goes sometimes. Not every practical path has to be some big life crisis, sometimes it's just a matter of trying a thing and moving on.

Nodding along like my neck's about to snap off, that's me. Honestly, I've spent more time watching cooking shows than I've ever spent actually cooking anything edible, so six months for a calculator is practically a Michelin star.
