I finally taught myself Python in 6 weeks with free YouTube playlists

Dropped out of community college after the first semester because I couldn't afford the textbooks and felt lost. Instead of going back, I found a channel called FreeCodeCamp and followed their 4-hour beginner Python video. Then I did a 3-part project series from another guy named Tech With Tim. Within 6 weeks I built a simple script that automated renaming files on my computer. That convinced me I didn't need a degree to learn coding. Anyone else skip formal classes and go straight to free online resources?

And that's the thing, right? People sleep on free resources like they're somehow less legit just because they didn't cost money. You proved the real value is just building something real, not the price tag on the course.

Heard a podcast where a guy said most coding bootcamps just repackage free YouTube content anyway. That 4-hour FreeCodeCamp video is basically a semester of intro Python if you actually pause and practice. You proved the real value is just building something real, not the price tag on the course.
