Dropping out of a $60k private school was way smarter than sticking with it for two more years.

My roommate kept saying I was throwing away opportunity, but I landed a sales job making $45k right away while she's still drowning in debt from that overpriced art history degree. Has anyone else felt like leaving was actually the best financial decision they ever made?

Oh man, this hits home. I literally just read an article last week about how many graduates from elite schools end up taking jobs that don't even require a degree, while the ones who dropped out and got real experience often move up faster. It's wild how we've been sold this idea that a fancy name on a diploma guarantees success. Your roommate might be drowning in debt for a piece of paper that won't even help her get a job in her field. Meanwhile you're out there making money and building actual skills that employers care about.

Honestly, "overpriced art history degree" pretty much sums up a bigger issue I see everywhere. People get so caught up in the name of a school they forget most jobs just want you to actually be able to do the work, not show off a fancy diploma.
