Dropped out of community college in Dallas and landed a welding gig paying $22/hr

I was at Richland College in Dallas doing gen eds and hating every second of it. After burning out halfway through my second semester last spring, I just stopped showing up. My uncle got me a helper job at his welding shop and within 3 months I was running my own rig. The money is way better than I expected but the schedule is brutal, like 50 hour weeks minimum. Has anyone else traded school for a trade and found the physical toll way tougher than they thought?

Damn, my buddy did the same thing and his back is already wrecked at 27.
