Dropped out of college in 2018 and my study time turned into fixing rusty pipes at my uncle's shop for free

I used to spend 4 hours a night memorizing textbook facts for exams I hated, now I spend that time learning how to solder copper joints from a retired plumber who charges me in beer. Has anyone else found a random skill that pays way better than their intended degree ever would?
