Debate: Should you go all-in on a niche skill or keep it broad after dropping out?

I found that focusing only on Python automation got me a remote gig in 4 months, but my buddy who learned a mix of sales and coding says I'm too narrow. Which path has worked better for you guys?

Saw a study saying niche specialists earn 30% more than generalists.
