Why does nobody talk about the coffee cart in that little park in Seattle?
I was in Seattle for a work thing last month and stumbled upon this tiny coffee cart in Volunteer Park. The guy running it only had one option, a pour-over from beans he roasted himself. He said, 'It's just a washed Ethiopian, but I think you'll like it.' I took a sip and my whole idea of what coffee could taste like changed. It wasn't bitter at all, just super bright and fruity, like blueberries. I stood there for like 20 minutes just asking him questions about his roast profile. Now my fancy home machine feels kinda pointless if I'm not paying that much attention to the beans first. Has anyone else had a simple cup totally wreck their usual coffee routine?

Yeah it's funny how the best stuff is usually super simple. I see it all the time with food too, like a perfect tomato from a farm stand making you question why you ever bought the fancy grocery store ones.

Ever try a local roaster's single origin? I got a bag from a small shop and my drip machine made better coffee than my old fancy setup. It's all about the fresh beans.

Oh man that reminds me of the time I found a bag of beans that had a little date stamp from three days prior and it was like a whole different drink.
