TIL a $9 hand grinder in my camping kit beats my $60 electric one for pour over
Went camping near Bend, Oregon three weeks ago and forgot my electric burr grinder at home, so I grabbed the tiny hand grinder I got for $9 at a garage sale years ago. I figured my morning cup would taste like dirt, but the hand grinder gave me the most even grind I've had in a long time, way better than the electric one that spins too fast and heats up the beans. The pour over came out sweet and clean, and I sat there by the river feeling like a fool for trusting the plug in grinder all this time. Now I'm wondering if I should just ditch the electric one or keep both, so what do you all use when you're away from home?

Did you actually weigh out the grinds from both to compare, or was it more of a taste thing? Curious if the $9 one is really more even or if the camping vibes just made the coffee taste better lol.
