Threw $85 in the trash with that hype single-origin Kenyan
I bought a bag of single-origin Kenyan beans from a local roaster in Portland, roasted 4 days ago, and it tasted like acidic dirt no matter how I brewed it. Tried V60, Aeropress, even a Chemex and got the same burnt lemon rind flavor. Anyone else get burned by overpriced beans that roasters hype up?

I heard that Kenyan beans need like two weeks rest before they taste right.

Let them sit for at least ten days after roasting before you even think about brewing them. I tried some too early once and it had this weird grassy taste that completely masked the fruit notes. Give them the full two weeks and you will get that bright, clean cup of coffee you are after.
