The pour over timer that made me question my whole routine
I set up a cheap kitchen scale with a timer feature last month, mostly to prove my buddy wrong about his fancy brewer. Turns out, my "30 second bloom" was really like 12 seconds because I never actually counted, I just guessed while fiddling with the kettle. After three mornings of measuring every pour, I found my total brew time was hitting 2 minutes flat instead of the 3 and a half I thought I was doing. The coffee tasted brighter and more acidic, which I thought was just the beans, but it was really my rushed pours. Now I use the timer every single day, and it feels dumb that I trusted my internal clock for five years. Has anyone else dialed in their pour and realized they were making a totally different cup than they thought?

Wait, my buddy actually timed himself once and found out his "5 minute brew" was done in about 90 seconds?
