My pour over kettle handle came loose right before a morning brew
It happened yesterday when I was heating water. The screw holding the wooden handle to the kettle body just fell out. I had to use an oven mitt to pour, which made a mess. I found the screw on the stove top and tightened it back with a small wrench from my toolbox. Has anyone else had a kettle just decide to fall apart like that?

Funny how it's always the little stuff that fails on you. Everything's got one weak point that'll mess up your whole morning.

Oh man, that exact thing happened to my old gooseneck! The heat from boiling just works those screws loose over time. I put a tiny dab of high temp thread locker on mine and it hasn't budged since. That oven mitt move is a classic panic move, I've totally been there.

Nice save with the thread locker! I was just staring at my kettle like it betrayed me, trying to remember if I own an oven mitt that isn't crusty with old spills. That little screw is a master of hide and seek every time it pops loose.
