Heard a barista in Denver say they never pre-heat their ceramic mugs, claiming it 'mutes the acidity'. Is that a thing?

That "mutes the acidity" thing reminds me of a guy at a diner who insisted on cold glasses for his orange juice. Said it tasted less bitter that way... I tried it once and honestly, it just tasted like cold orange juice. Maybe some people just feel the temperature more than the actual flavor.

Wait, you didn't taste a difference? Cold glass always makes my OJ smoother, less of that sharp bite. Maybe it depends on the brand or something.

Wait are you serious? I actually feel for that barista, people are so picky about coffee temps lol. Ive had the same thing happen with hot drinks where warming the cup just makes everything taste sharper and less smooth, so I kinda get the logic even if it sounds weird.
