Doubted the whole single-origin hype until a buddy forced me to try his Ethiopian beans
I've been drinking store brand dark roast for years and thought paying $20+ for a bag of beans was a scam. He brewed me a cup with no sugar or cream and I actually tasted blueberry notes which blew my mind. Has anyone else had a coffee moment that totally flipped your opinion on something?

The first time I tried a Kenyan Peaberry from a local roaster was that moment for me. I had always used cream and sugar to cover up the bitter taste of whatever was cheapest at the grocery store. That cup had this bright, almost wine-like acidity and a clean finish that just didn't need anything added. I still keep a bag of that same roaster's stuff around for when I want a treat.

The Ethiopian beans got me too. My buddy brewed me a natural process Yirgacheffe and I swore I tasted strawberries, thought he was messing with my head but nope it was real. Now I'm the guy annoying everyone to try my "fancy coffee" lol.
