A barista told me my pour-over was too aggressive and now I use a gooseneck kettle
After she watched me dump water in like a madman she handed me their demo kettle and said 'just try it slow' and my coffee went from bitter to actually sweet, has anyone else had a shop employee totally change their routine?

Wait they seriously just handed you a demo kettle on the spot? That's wild! I've had shops offer advice but never let me borrow equipment to test out. My aeropress routine got a total makeover after a barista in Portland showed me how to stir instead of press down like I was fighting the plunger. I used to cremate my coffee until I took her advice and suddenly it tasted like actual fruit instead of burnt ash.

Man, my FIRST pour over attempt was SO bad I basically made a salt lick disguised as coffee. @noran21 I feel that burnt ash comment deeply. I ended up gifting that entire bag to my neighbor who was too polite to refuse it.
