That guy who said 'build projects not tutorials' got me thinking

I spent 3 weeks doing a Python tutorial on Udemy and still couldn't write a script to rename my photos, so maybe he was right that actually building something janky teaches you more than perfect code.

Man, that is EXACTLY the thing. Did you actually finish that script for renaming your photos after the tutorial failed you, or did you just bail on it? Because I think that moment where you're staring at a broken script is the REAL teacher, more than any polished course could ever be.

Man, that first broken script is brutal but it's like a right of passage. Staring at a terminal with no idea what's wrong teaches you more than any perfect tutorial ever will.
