Just tried both VS Code and PyCharm for my first Python project
Everyone in my online class kept saying VS Code is the only editor beginners need, but I found PyCharm's free Community Edition way better for learning. The built-in debugger and error highlighting caught my syntax mistakes instantly, while in VS Code I had to install and configure three different extensions to get close to the same help. Has anyone else found a dedicated IDE easier to start with than a general editor?

laura_lane it's like people forget different tools work for different brains, so what's your take on the setup time - did you feel like PyCharm got you coding faster right out of the box compared to VS Code?
