Just realized my cousin in Toledo was dead on about learning loops first
Tbh I spent 3 weeks grinding through a big free web dev course and kept getting stuck on the projects because I couldn't do anything without copying code line by line. My cousin who does IT in Toledo kept saying learn loops cold before you touch a framework, and I ignored her for a whole week. Once I wrote 5 tiny loop exercises from scratch it clicked in about 90 minutes. Ngl, has anyone else had a family member give you the exact advice you needed and you blew them off first?
I did the same thing with my older brother's advice about learning keyboard shortcuts before memorizing menu paths. Blew him off for months because it felt boring and slow. Then I forced myself to do 10 minutes a day of just shortcut drills and after two weeks my speed about doubled. Taking your cousin's loop advice and shrinking it down to 5 tiny exercises is the part that really works. Small reps beat one big grind every time.
