Blew $89 on a "Python for Beginners" course that was just a guy reading the docs out loud
About 3 weeks ago I paid $89 for an online Python course because the landing page had a testimonial from some guy in Dallas who said he got a job in 30 days. Turned out the whole thing was the instructor slowly reading the official Python docs word for word while his cat walked across the keyboard. I sat through 6 hours of it waiting for the good part before I caught on. The "real project" at the end was just a print statement that said Hello World three times. I could have learned the same stuff for free on YouTube in an afternoon, and I actually did once I gave up on the course. My advice is watch the first few free videos before you pay for anything, because that one preview clip was the only part with any effort in it. Did any of you get suckered by one of these paid beginner courses, or is it just me and my $89 lesson?
