The 30 second reset that saves my Sunday meal prep every time

I kept botching my Sunday prep because I'd try to do everything at once. Last month I finally noticed that the real problem was the order, not the cooking. If I chop all the veggies first, they sit and get soggy while the meat cooks, so I started doing a quick 30 second reset between each ingredient group. Put the cutting board in the sink, clear the counter of scraps, dry the board, then start the next batch. Sounds dumb but it keeps me from rushing and dropping stuff, and my prep went from 2 hours to 80 minutes flat. Has anyone else found a tiny habit that saves way more time than it costs?

Wait, is your cutting board actually dry by the time the next batch starts? Mine takes forever to air dry, so I just keep a dry kitchen towel folded next to the sink and give it a quick pat down. That's my tiny reset, honestly. The real time saver for me was grouping by cooking method, so all the oven stuff gets prepped together, then the stovetop stuff, then the raw stuff that never touches heat. It means I'm only washing the board once or twice the whole session, not after every single vegetable. Also, I started using a big bowl for scraps instead of running to the compost bin each time, and that alone probably saved me 15 minutes of walking back and forth.
