Saw a post about missing a game-winning free throw being a choke job, but I think it's more complicated

I read this thread yesterday where everyone was piling on a college player who missed the front end of a one-and-one with 3 seconds left, calling him a total choker. But the guy shot 87% from the line that season, so one miss with the season on the line feels more like bad luck than a character flaw to me. Has anyone else seen a single moment get blown way out of proportion when the player's overall track record says otherwise?

Doesn't the sample size argument only work if you ignore the pressure variable?
