Update: my town's new curbside compost pilot and the bin that sat empty for 5 weeks
Signed up for the compost pilot in Fort Collins back in April and the bin just sat there because nobody told us yard waste and food scraps go in the same cart. I finally called the city after 5 weeks and the guy laughed and said half the street made the same mistake. Did your city roll out something like this, and did they actually explain it or just drop the bins off?

My sister's city in Oregon did the same thing and sent a whole mailer explaining food plus yard waste go together, so at least some places get it right. Fort Collins might want to copy that before more bins sit empty for a month.
