That 100 degree week in Phoenix broke my car's AC and my whole recycling routine
Last July we had 6 days straight over 110. I usually haul my glass and cans to the transfer station every other Sunday, but that week I just left them in the garage. By Friday the bags were ripe and I found out my neighbor was just tossing his stuff in the regular bin because it was too hot to sort. He said "nobody's gonna drive 20 minutes in that heat for a few jars." That got me thinking... is the convenience factor quietly killing more climate efforts than we admit? Like, how many people skip the good habit when it costs them time or comfort? Or should we push for better local pickup programs instead of judging? I ended up driving at 6am the next Saturday, but my AC was blowing warm by the time I got there. What does your town do when the weather makes climate action a pain?

Is the transfer station ever actually open at a time when normal people can go without melting?
