Shoutout to the $60 power bill that made me rethink my whole AC habit

I always ran the AC at 68 all summer without thinking, then last August my bill in Fresno hit $60 higher than my neighbor's and I finally asked why. Half of me thinks keeping it at 78 and using fans is just common sense, the other half thinks if you're home all day you deserve to be cool. Where do you all land on comfort versus cutting back?
