My solar panel mishap turned into a surprisingly good week

So I tried to clean my roof panels myself last Tuesday and slipped on the wet shingles. Ended up sliding down and knocking over a bucket of water onto my inverter, which sparked and shut everything down. I figured I'd be out hundreds for a replacement, but the repair guy who came out Thursday just had to reset a breaker and swap a fuse. Cost me $45 total, and now the system's running better than it ever has. Has anyone else had a DIY disaster that somehow worked out way better than expected?

Yeah @holly898 called it, that solar tax is real. I once tried to save money by swapping out an old fuse myself on a different setup and accidentally fixed a loose connection I didn''t even know was there, just like your guy did for you.

Gravity trying to collect on that solar tax, huh? $45 and a breaker reset is basically getting paid to learn you shouldn't be a human sprinkler on a roof. Most of my DIY "improvements" end up costing me a few hundred and a weekend of swearing at Youtube tutorials. Sounds like your inverter just needed a little shock therapy of its own to wake up. Probably just wanted a day off and a cheap fuse.
