I used to think my old car was fine because it still ran
A few years back, I was driving my 2003 sedan and a friend asked to see my gas receipts for a month. It was over $200. He showed me his bill for his new electric car, which was about $30 for the same miles. That was the moment it clicked. I was spending so much on gas and not even thinking about the pollution. Anyone else have a simple moment that made them switch to an electric vehicle?

What about the cost to replace the battery though?

Oh man, that old chestnut. It's like asking what the cost to replace an engine is right after someone buys a used car. Sure, it's a thing that happens, but you don't buy the car planning for it to blow up tomorrow. By the time you need a new battery, you'll have saved enough on gas to not even feel it.
