Can we talk about the guy at my town hall who said recycling is a waste of time because of one truck
Went to a city council meeting in Fort Collins last month about the new compost program, and this guy stands up and says recycling is pointless because he saw one truck collect both bins on his street once. The room actually clapped a little, which got me heated. It was one truck on one street on one day, and he turned it into a reason to kill a program that keeps 40,000 tons a year out of the landfill. I get being mad at confusing rules, but killing the whole thing because of a bad afternoon is how nothing ever gets better. Anyone else seen this move at their local meetings, and did you get anywhere with the person or just give up?
