Vent: paid $38 for "fresh" herb bundles that were dead before I got them home
Last Tuesday I grabbed three little plastic packs of basil, cilantro, and parsley from the store near my place in Akron, and two of them were already slimy by Thursday morning. Turns out the packs were dated almost a week out but the leaves underneath were brown and mushy, so I tossed about $25 of it straight into the bin. I should've checked the stems right there in the aisle instead of trusting the date stamp. Now I've got a half-dead basil plant on my sill and a bad attitude. Anyone got a trick for spotting wilted herbs before you buy them, or do I just need to start growing my own?
