The mystery juice that turned into a science experiment
I found this mason jar behind a container of pickles in my fridge last night. It had some dark red liquid with what looked like fuzzy islands floating on top. My best guess is it was cranberry juice I bought for a recipe back in February. I held my breath while I dumped it down the drain and washed the jar in bleach water. Has anyone else found something in their fridge that you can't even identify anymore?

Honestly I used to be one of those people who thought "it's fine, juice keeps forever" but nope, you just changed my mind completely. I had some pomegranate juice that looked totally fine until I opened it one day and it smelled like a science fair project.

Totally agree with you @jordanm19, it's like juice has this secret life where it can look perfect right up until it decides to smell like a failed chemistry experiment. I swear my orange juice pulls the same trick, sitting there all innocent and then BAM, it's basically vinegar with a side of regret. Really makes you think about those bottles in the back of the fridge you've been ignoring for months (mostly because you're scared of what you'll find). But hey, at least now you know to give pomegranate juice a sniff test before getting too confident.
