Switched from plastic wrap to beeswax wraps and I'm shocked I didn't do it sooner
I always thought beeswax wraps were a gimmick until my roommate Rachel bought a set for $18 at the farmers market last month. She showed me how they actually keep my half-cut avocado green for 3 days instead of turning brown by 9am. Now I'm wondering if I should toss the rest of my plastic wrap or just use it up slowly - what do you all do with the leftover rolls?

Honestly the "just sit on top" thing is exactly what I would have guessed too lol. But my buddy Kyle got a set from his sister for Christmas and he showed me how it works - you warm it up with your hands for like 10 seconds so the beeswax gets a little tacky, then you press it down around the avocado. He said it actually seals pretty good, like the wrap molds to the shape of whatever you cover. He brought over a half avocado he wrapped the night before and it was still green, no joke. I watched him peel it off in the morning and it held that seal until he pulled it. I still think plastic wrap is easier but apparently the beeswax stuff actually does the job.

How do you get the beeswax wraps to actually stay in place over a half avocado, or does it just sit on top?
