and honestly it's not just about the fridge either, i've noticed this same pattern with like closets full of clothes with tags still on them or that one drawer everyone has full of random cables from 2006. we all just get so used to ignoring stuff that it basically becomes invisible until someone new points it out and you realize how wild it actually looks. having that one friend or roommate who actually calls you on your junk is lowkey a superpower cause otherwise you'd just keep letting that expired yogurt build a civilization in the back.

Heh, I feel this in my bones. I've got a Tupperware in the back of my fridge that I'm too scared to open at this point. Gotta respect the roommate who actually calls you on your junk.

I actually just read an article about how the average fridge has like 20% of its space taken up by stuff that's basically expired or unrecognizable. It made me feel a little better about my own science experiments in there (you know, the ones I'm too scared to touch). But seriously, having a roommate who actually calls you out is a blessing, even if it stings in the moment. I'd rather be embarrassed now than deal with whatever is growing in that Tupperware three months from now.
