Last Saturday my neighbor Ray was out on his porch in Riverside when I hauled two trash bags of old takeout to the curb. He didn't say anything rude, just asked how much of that I actually paid for and forgot about. I stood there doing the math and figured it was probably $40 to $50 that week alone, mostly stuff I bought because it was on sale with no plan to cook it. Now I do a five minute fridge check before every grocery run and keep a little whiteboard on the door with what needs eating first. What's the one thing in your fridge that keeps going bad no matter how many times you swear you'll use it?
