My mom's fridge in Toledo had 3 open jars of the same salsa, and that got me counting
I stayed at my mom's place in Toledo over the holiday and went digging for cream for my coffee, and her fridge was a museum of half-used stuff. Three open jars of salsa, all the same brand, two almost empty. A bag of shredded cheese from who knows when, hard as gravel in the corner. It hit me that she's not lazy, she just can't see what she already has because the shelves are so packed. So I pulled everything out, lined it up on the counter, and we counted 14 items that had been opened and forgotten. She stood there and said, "I buy salsa every trip because I can't find the last one." We spent maybe 20 minutes wiping shelves and putting the old stuff up front in a bin, and she actually laughed when she saw how much room there was. Has anyone gotten a stubborn family member to keep a front bin going, or does it fall apart after a week like I'm afraid it will?
