Just realized my fridge has stayed under $60 a week for 2 months now
Back in January I was tossing probably $30 of food a week, half eaten bags of greens, lunch meat I forgot about, leftovers in containers I was scared to open. I started doing a quick scan before I go to the store instead of just grabbing whatever looks good, and now I plan 3 dinners around whatever is already sitting on the shelf. Last night I made a stir fry from a half head of cabbage and some chicken that was on its last day and it was honestly great. My grocery bill in March came in at $232 total for the month, which is the lowest it's been since I moved into this place. Anyone got a trick for using up fresh herbs before they turn to slime?
