Had to throw out almost $40 worth of produce last week
I finally figured out I was storing my tomatoes in the fridge all wrong. My roommate told me they go in a bowl on the counter, not in the crisper drawer. I lost a whole bag of Roma tomatoes and a big container of cherry tomatoes before she said something. Now I keep them on the counter and they last twice as long. Has anyone else been doing this wrong the whole time?

Yeah the "tomatoes in the fridge" thing got me too. I used to think all produce just goes straight into the crisper drawer no questions asked. But actually I had a friend tell me the same thing a few months back about onions and potatoes not going in the fridge together either. It's wild how much difference a simple storage change makes. I lost a whole bag of bell peppers last summer because I kept them in the fridge drawer with moisture and they got slimy fast. Now I keep them on the counter in a paper bag and they last way longer, like a week and a half easy.

Bell peppers actually do fine in the fridge if you dry them off first and keep em in a loose plastic bag with air holes... the counter thing works but they'll start going soft faster after a few days.
