Changed my mind about meal prep after visiting my sister's kitchen
I always thought meal prepping on Sunday was the only way to stop wasting food. But I visited my sister in Austin last weekend and saw her system. She just cooks one extra portion of dinner every night and packs it for lunch the next day. She said she went from throwing away $40 of produce a week to almost zero waste. I realized trying to prep 5 days of food at once was making me hate leftovers by Wednesday. Her way seems way more realistic for someone like me who gets bored easily. Has anyone else tried this smaller batch approach?

The night-before method works great for avoiding food boredom but you still gotta plan your grocery trips around it or you'll end up with random odds and ends that never get used. I've seen people try that approach and still toss stuff because they bought a whole bunch of cilantro for one recipe and forgot about it. A loose meal plan that leaves room for those extra portions is the real key.
