Vent: Had to choose between a standard brush and a poly brush for a really narrow flue in an old Albuquerque house.
Went with the poly, and it got the job done without a scratch, but I'm curious if anyone's had a different result with metal in a similar tight spot.

Your "narrow flue" situation is a perfect example of a simple rule. The softer tool is almost always the safer bet in a tight space. It's why I reach for a plastic scraper before a metal one on anything delicate.
