Tried a rotary brush kit once after years of using standard hand rods, never going back
I was stubborn about my manual rods for 8 years cleaning chimneys around Portland. Last month I picked up a rotary brush for a heavy creosote job and it cut my time from 45 minutes down to 20. The spinning action just tears through buildup way better than scraping. Has anyone else made the switch and regretted waiting so long?

Funny you mention that - I've noticed the same kind of stubbornness in other areas of my life, like my husband refusing to switch from his old flip phone to a smartphone for years. Then he finally got one for GPS on a road trip and now he won't shut up about it. It's like we all have this weird pride thing about doing things the hard way, maybe because it feels more "authentic" or something. But once you try the better tool, you realize you were just making life harder for no reason. Your chimney story is basically the same as my aunt who refused to use a dishwasher until she was 60, now she runs it every single day.
