Took me 12 years to stop using tape for inspection reports

Back when I started sweeping in Denver, I always brought a roll of duct tape on jobs to mark flue damage in photos. Problem was, the adhesive left goo on customers' mantels twice and I ended up paying $150 in cleaning fees. Last spring I switched to a dry erase marker and a small whiteboard, now I sketch the flue layout right on the board and snap the photo in 30 seconds. Cuts my report time from 10 minutes per job down to 4, and no more sticky mess. Anyone else still using tape out of habit and afraid to try the whiteboard trick?

Switching to a dry erase board was a game changer for me too, the sketches actually show the damage better than tape ever did. Just keep a microfiber cloth in your bag so you are not wiping it on your sleeve between jobs.
