Saw a roofer in Council Bluffs run his cap right over the flue tile and now I'm second guessing my whole routine
Was doing a clean on a 1920s rental over on 5th Street in Council Bluffs last Tuesday and the roofer next door was finishing up. Watched him lay the crown and cap so the flue tile sat flush with the concrete, no lip at all. I've always kept 2 inches of tile above the crown, and now I'm wondering if I'm the one doing it weird. The homeowner asked me why mine stuck up so far and I didn't have a good answer. Any of you keep tile low and still pass inspection, or am I overthinking this?
