Found an old creosote log in my truck from 2021, decided to test it out of curiosity

I had this cheap creosote log sitting in my cab since a job in Denver back in 2021, so I tossed it in a customer's stove last week just to see if it still worked. It did break down some buildup, but the smell was way stronger than I remembered and hung around for two days. Anyone else ever use an expired one, or is it just me being too cheap to throw things out?
