Dropped $230 on a camera scope and it paid for itself on the first job
Got tired of guessing on tight flues so I bought a cheap wifi borescope with a 16 foot cable for about $230. First job after that was a ranch house in Cheektowaga with a nest clogged way up past a bend where my rods couldn't reach. I ran the camera up, saw the mess on my phone, and pulled it out clean in under 20 minutes instead of cutting a hole in the wall. Now I want to know what the rest of you use for the deep bends, because this thing hates tight turns and the picture gets fuzzy past about 12 feet.
Sounds like you got lucky once and now you're stuck with a tool that can't handle the jobs that actually pay. A camera that fuzzes out at 12 feet won't save you on the next tight bend, so maybe learn to read a flue before spending more on gadgets.
