A weird find in a chimney in Boise made me change my camera setup
I was cleaning a chimney at an old house in Boise last month and my inspection camera got stuck on something. I pulled it out and saw a huge, solid bird nest packed right in the flue, about 8 feet down. The owner had no idea it was there because their last sweep didn't use a camera at all. Now I always run the camera first before I even bring in the rods, just to see what I'm dealing with. Do you guys do a visual check first on every job now?

Guess that last sweep was just winging it.

That joke hits a little too close to home for some of us.

Winging it is a strong way to put it. Sometimes a quick pass is all you need to get the main stuff, and calling it winging it feels unfair. It gets the job done without overthinking every little detail. What do you call a good enough clean up?
