My garlic peeling fail led to a kitchen hack I swear by now
I was prepping for a big dinner and needed to peel a whole head of garlic. In a rush, I tried smashing it with a knife, but it shot across the room like a rocket. One clove landed in my coffee mug, which was funny but messy. After that, I learned to use two bowls to shake the garlic loose, which works like magic. It cuts down on prep time and no more flying garlic. Now I always do it that way, and my friends think I'm a genius. Funny how a silly slip-up can show you a better trick.

Did your garlic think it was a spaceship? That bowl trick is a good way to stop flying cloves. At least it missed your coffee this time.

That bowl trick makes a real mess with all those papery bits everywhere though. Honestly just learning to smash it right with a knife gives you more control, like @miabennett said about the spaceship garlic. The old way builds better kitchen skills for when you just need a clove or two fast.

Honestly I feel that garlic rocket pain so much. Tbh my cutting board has a permanent garlic shaped dent from a similar launch. The bowl trick is messy but for a whole head it saves my sanity, even with the papery bits to clean up. Ngl I still use the knife smash for just a clove or two though.
