Hit 500 covers solo for the first time last Saturday and it broke my brain
I've been a line cook for 3 years but last Saturday was my first time running the pass by myself during a 500 cover rush. That moment when the ticket machine went silent at 11pm and I realized I hadn't had a single fire in the weeds the whole night... has anyone else had a milestone like that hit them out of nowhere?

Did you feel like you were in a weird dream state after it all ended too? That silence after the rush is the loudest thing I've ever experienced, like my brain needed a full minute to remember how to breathe.

Bet your expo felt weird standing there with nothing to do.

My cousin stood guard at an expo booth for 8 hours straight back in 2019 and said it was the best shift he ever pulled. Not having to chase down visitors or pitch anything actually let him observe what questions people really asked when they stopped by. He ended up rewriting their whole sales script based on that quiet time. Sometimes having nothing to do gives you the space to notice stuff you'd miss when you're always hustling.
